After nearly 36 hours of competition in the Stock Full size truck class the Foutz Motorsports team finished the grueling Baja 1000. Ending up 3rd place in class after racing for 854 miles of the roughest terrain known to man in a stock 2017 Ford Raptor Super Cab truck is a huge accomplishment for the team. Racing against other heavily modified vehicles with the stock raptor was like taking a knife to a gun fight in many cases. The team was prepared and would not quit making it the entire distance with only about 40 seconds to spare on the 36 hour time limit. Just finishing this the longest off-road race in the world is a huge accomplishment for sure.
The team brought the Ford Raptor to contingency at 5:00 am to get in line which left us no choice but to break the "Built Ford Tough" guidelines and get doughnuts with sprinkles on them. Everyone was in good spirits getting ready for the adventure of a lifetime for the team and the guest drivers of John Swift, Andy Waters, and regular team mate Tim Casey. Combine all of this with the other 12 chase trucks and crew the team was ready.......
Tech and contingency was a ZOOOOOO to say the least. The team worked through the crowd by spreading "steekers" and other stuff for the crowd. A hit for sure among the locals.
After the incredible finish the team decided to put the cherry on top and drive the race truck back home to Mesa Arizona from the finish line in Ensenada. But that's another storry.........
